Remembering the value of peace

9-11. It’s a day to not just remember but also to vividly value and embrace peace. As the world remains an oh, so crazy place it’s more important than ever to be compassionate and find time for kindness and seeking beauty. In nearby Kingston at Fireman’s Park the commemorative statue of firefighters carrying out Father Mychal Judge from the ruins has a fresh wreath beside it – a welcome dash of color amid the darkness of this captured moment. May the love, dedication and unity we experienced toward each other in the aftermath of the attacks now unite us in peace – in our country and throughout the world. And for the 2,996 people who died so horrifically 12 years ago, you are still missed every day.
